Hello Kolektyw Kariatyda, thanks for submitting this grant proposal and planning another amazing project! I have a few questions and requests about this grant proposal; kindly review and address them:

  • You have budgeted expenses for “translations of the content”. Could you please provide more details about it? Will you use these funds to translate primary source materials to make them accessible for Polish speakers? Or you will give it to some of the editors to translate Wikipedia articles? If this expense is for translation of primary sources, what’s your plan of using the translated content?
  • What kind of content will the video editing volunteer create and edit?
  • We now require all grantees to announce their projects and receive the Wikimedia community feedback in advance. Could you please announce this project and grant on the relevant community pages on the target wiki(s) (Polish Wikipedia)? Community notification may be most appropriate on a village pump, talk page, or mailing list. Please paste a link into the proposal page to where the relevant communities have been notified of this proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 09:30, 19 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello DSaroyan, thank you very much for reviewing our proposal. Below are our answers to your questions and comments divided into sections:

  • Our plan is to translate a substantial amount of primary source materials from English to Polish in order to create new comprehensive entries in Polish Wikipedia. We will also check the content of the existing entries in English Wikipedia and see if they can be used. Our reason for budgeting those expenses is that unfortunately, the subject of postcolonial female artists is rather niche when it comes to Polish sources. Therefore, before the edit-a-thon, we want to create some sort of database of translated materials. By translating materials, we want to ensure that new and improved articles are properly sourced and referenced while taking into account that not every participant might be able to fluently read texts in the source language.
  • We want to organize an online lecture dedicated to the issues of art and postcolonialism - it will be transmitted live via our Facebook page and simultaneously translated into Polish Sign Language (PJM). The task of the video editing volunteer will be to edit the lecture and upload it to Wikimedia Commons to make it more accessible.
  • We've announced our project on
