Thank you for applying to host a local meetup at the Wikimedia Hackathon. We are so grateful you took the time to put together a proposal, but unfortunately we will not be able to fund your proposal at this time. This was the first time the Hackathon organizers ran a grant program, and because of limited resources we were not able to accept most of the proposals we received.
Your proposal was incredibly strong, and our committee was thrilled to see the details and passion of the event plan. Because the Hackathon prioritizes developer projects and not editing, the committee did not feel this was the best grant to support your proposal. That said, we highly encourage you to resubmit this proposal for upcoming grant opportunities.
We also encourage your organizers and community members to still attend the online Hackathon. There are many other ways to take part in the online event, from hosting sessions, joining projects, or participating in social events online. We look forward to meeting you there!
