Hi Tomas Castelo Armando, thank you for submitting your grant application. After reviewing your grant proposal, we have some questions to learn more about the project and planned activities.

  • What are some examples of articles on Wikimedia or other Wikimedia projects which you plan to illustrate?
  • You mentioned you would submit videos to Wikidata. Would you please clarify this?
  • How do you plan to incorporate the transcriptions into Wikimedia projects?
  • Do you have any plans to promote the created content?
  • When traveling to these regions would you also consider taking photos of cultural and other objects to upload to Wikimedia Commons?
  • Are there any plans of editing any Wikipedia articles to add more information about these communities and their culture?
  • After your first project, do you have any active editors who will be involved in this project?
  • Please provide a more detailed breakdown of the budget.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks for your time, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 14:42, 29 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

What are some examples of articles on Wikimedia or other Wikimedia projects which you plan to illustrate?
In the Project I mention that I have been collection folkores in communities which will be published in Emakhuwa by Ethale Publishing House in Mozambique. It will be the first of its nature e Emakhuwa Language. Published one of the on the AfroCuration 1.0 in 2021.
You mentioned you would submit videos to Wikidata. Would you please clarify this?
The Folkalores which I have collected are in audio version. The idea is to record videos this time which will be send to wikicommons and can be used by other wikipedian in Emakhuwa and other languages. All videos will be transcribed in Emakhuwa and an article will be published in the incubator of Emakhuwa wikipedia project. Then, they will be translated into Portuguese and English by the twelve students.
How do you plan to incorporate the transcriptions into Wikimedia projects?
The Trascriptions will be published in https://incubator.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wp/vmw/, which a project implemented under AfroCuration. Moreover, they will be translated into Portuguese and English.
Do you have any plans to promote the created content?
There will be an Event at University to share the event about the culture, medicinal plans, places from these four communities. We will make a banner about the Project and there will be T-shirts for the 1s students who will participate.
When traveling to these regions would you also consider taking photos of cultural and other objects to upload to Wikimedia Commons?
As community walkproject, we will arrive early in the morning and we will take pictures of all objects, dances, food, cooking, and leisure activities.
Are there any plans of editing any Wikipedia articles to add more information about these communities and their culture?
Yes. Our twelve partipantes will improve the existem articles about these communities. Some of them are not on wikipedia and we will create article about these communities. We will consder taking pictures of their leaders and writing a bit about them.
After your first project, do you have any active editors who will be involved in this project?

Thank you so much DSaroyan for your questions. They helped grow as wikimedian and understand how some of these things work. The only wondering questions is related to having 0edits. Please check my link below to help me understand.
· What are some examples of articles on Wikimedia or other Wikimedia projects which you plan to illustrate? - You haven't provided any specific examples. Please provide them as requested.
The communities selected are two districts naming Murrupula,(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murrupula_District) and Rapale distrct (https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapale_(distrito)#Divis%C3%A3o_administrativa).
· Do you have any list of articles, pages, entries, or objects which you plan to work with? Please provide it.
These two places have but limited information. No pictures are available about these districts. The districts are divided into Administrative Posts (Mutivaze, Namaita e Rapale, Caramaja and Tchaiane, Anchilo, Chinga, Namilasse, Murrupula-Sede, Gazuzu, Namitotelane, Mulhaniua, Nacocolo) but there is no page about them. There is no mention about cultural objects such as kitchen utensils (traditional pots, plates, spoons), types of housing, roofing, food items, traditional leaders such as Mwene (make leader) and Apiyamwene (female leader), of those regions. Nothing is written what economic activities people do in these regions; Important places such as rivers, community gathering places, cemeteries, worships places, important plants.
· After your first project, do you have any active editors who will be involved in this project? - You mentioned that you are a trainer but I cannot see any edits from your Wikimedia account. How do you train others when you have 0 edits? Who are these active editors? Could you please provide their usernames?
Some of the editors who participated my first project and are still active Malo Carlitos Namige, Sebastiao Valter, Dezembro Faustino, and Sansao Alfredo. If you check from https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Especial:Contribui%C3%A7%C3%B5es/Tomas_Armando_Moz, you will see that have done something. I wonder why I have 0 edits. But in this page, I have a list of all activities that I was able to do and participate. Some of the usernames are

I know how to publish pictures on wikicommons because Tochi_precious taught me and as test I went around Nampula City and took five pictures. Two at Centro Cultural da universidade Rovuama, which I used to write an initial article available at https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centro_Cultural_da_Universidade_Rovuma, and three from the National Museum of ethnology, also used in this article: https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Museu_Nacional_de_Etnografia_de_Nampula. Moreover, Whenever I have a question, I ask her in the first place. She is the one mentoring me. Tomas Armando Moz (talk) 12:22, 6 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Tomas Armando Moz! It seems that the username that you provided on the application page (Tomas Castelo Armando) does not match with your current username. That was the reason why I couldn't see any edits from your account. Now I see them, thanks! I just replaced your username with the correct one. --DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 15:58, 6 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank for extending my reporting deadline as per my request. The editing process took longer than I expected. This is not under my skills set. I will able to upload the videos and pictures, including the texts by 13. this month. 197.218.100.207 07:41, 5 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
