Hi!

I think you might have accidentally applied in the wrong category (I think you meant to apply as part of the AF rapid grant cycle but used a WP20 event template. Do you want to resubmit?

Hello 13ab37, We can go ahead with the same application but it will not be counted under Wikipedia20 grants. Can you update the on-wiki or mailing list announcement link used to notify the community members for the grant proposal. Looking forward to the update. Hi RSharma, thanks so much for letting me know. I am not familiar with how to update the on-wiki link. Can you please provide me a little guidance on that? Thanks again! NaPupila (talk)
Hello 13ab37, thanks for your query. You have mentioned in the application that the projects targeded are: Wikipedia PT, Wikimedia Commons, and Wikidata. For sharing the proposal with the related community, you can visit the community portal discussion page and share about the project there. For instance, for the Portugese Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata, the appropriate place to share the proposal would be on these following links:
  1. https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikip%C3%A9dia_Discuss%C3%A3o:Portal_comunit%C3%A1rio
  2. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons_talk:Village_pump
  3. https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata_talk:Community_portal

Please let me know if you need further clarification and let me when you have updated the grant application with the update. Looking forward to it. Regards! RSharma (WMF) (talk) 11:21, 15 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Extended period of the awarded grant

edit

To whom it may concern,

I would like to consult about the grant given to NaPupila. We faced some difficulties to finish what we propose - the four editathons - and would like to know how we can reorganize the proposal. Covid-19 in Brazil has been a challenge since it does not seem to be taken seriously by the federal government. That was a challenge because we have partnerships with cultural institutions and, they were having to deal with the sanitary measurements, what made finding a common date for the last two editathons quite impossible.

In addition to this question, we are having some doubts about the final report. Since the grant should have been spent until November 30 and we still have some money of it, can we use it in December or is it a problem? We would have to adapt some items. What we send was:

Internet access for each event day: US$ 60 * 4 = US$ 240 Paid post to boost events on social media: US$ 30 * 4 = US$ 120 Take out - Food and drinks, food online coupons (Ubereats): US$ 80 * 4 = US$ 320 Printed material (e.g. postcards, posters, booklet on our Art+Feminism Campaigns, stickers): US$ 80 * 4 = US$ 320 Online material (e.g. cards, PDF digital booklet on our Art+Feminism Campaigns, GIFs): US$ 50 * 4 = US$ 200

We were planning to change to: Zoom plan: $149.50 (we use this platform for our edithatons and, during the past two years it has been proved to work, reaching our needs). Take out - Food and drinks, food online coupons (Ubereats): US$ 80 * 4 = US$ 320 Printed material (e.g. postcards, posters, booklet on our Art+Feminism Campaigns, stickers): US$ 630 - we want to print a booklet with the history of each edithaton we have organized and a small guide on how to edit Wiki so we can distributed. It will be done in Portuguese.

Summing up, we are proposing some changes from the original proposal: - Instead of four editathons, we were able to do 02 in the year of 2021 and are requesting more time to do one more edithaton (looking at the our reality and the one from our partners, it seems more viable). -Reorganizing the funds, using the majority of the given money to create a booklet with the memory and numbers from all editathons we organized plus a fast guide in how to edit in Wiki. - Spend the remaining money on December - Depending on the final answer, if what we propose is accepted, we also would like to plead for an extension on delivering the final report.

I hope these changes can be approved. We think they are a good adaptation to what we had planned.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Warm regards,

Dear Jujubs84, thanks for posting your request. We are glad to approve it.

  • We approve the new project plan to organize two editathons instead of four.
  • We approve the updated budget.
  • We also extended the grant end date to January 15, 2022. This means that the new reporting due date is February 15, 2022.
