• Are you holding any leadership position at the thanks for submitting this Rapid Grant application. I have reviewed it and have a few questions and requests.

• Is this grant requested on behalf of Hausa Wikimedians User Group?

Budget:

• Please remove the Transportation costs. You don’t need them because all activities are organized online.
• The prize budget for this contest is high. We won’t fund this project with the current prize budget.
  • For the top prizes, please lower the budget to 400 USD maximum.
  • Since you also have certificates included in your budget, please reduce the number of offered merchandise to 5-10, providing them only to organizers or top contributors. Please choose between T-shirts, bags, or pens.
  • Please update the detailed budget and total requested budget in the probox.

Hello DSaroyan (WMF), thanks for question and request, I have made necessary changes and I make the following explanation

• This grant requeste is not on behalf of Hausa Wikimedians User Group.
• Transportation: I have change it to the amount to spent for delivery (Carrier) to the winners after the contest, because many of them are not close by, so their gift will be delivered through transportation.
• Budget for prizes: Do you mean a total of 400 USD to buy the prizes for the five winners? if so, then the amount is equivalent to the price that can buy a Computer laptop for the first prize, 400 USD is equivalent to 152,044 Naira NGN, an amount that can buy a laptop only, so how do we solve this? We want a situation where by every participants will have a good gift that will motivate them to participate in the next contest to come. I think the mistake I made is for putting 1,978 USD as total instead of 789 USD, which by now I have corrected, so I will like to hear it from you on how we can sort this out.
• For the merchandisers I chose T-shirts for Organizers and bags for participants, so I remove pen making the amount less, but you will realize that the amount goes down a little, is because of rate of producing the merchandisers, the higher the quantity the lower the price, vice versa.

Yes, I meant to reduce the total prize to 400 USD. We won't approve this grant with such expensive prizes. Using expensive prizes only to motivate the participants is not a good practice and won't result in persistent engagement. So please make the requested change and update the budget accordingly.

I meant to reduce the total number to 10 maximum (T-shirts and bags together). Additionally, given that you have only slightly changed the merchandise budget, we will only fund 200 USD for the swags. Please reduce the number of items and also lower the merchandise budget to 200 USD.

• No I don't hold any leadership position in the Hausa Wikimedians User Group, Yes there is a members from the user group, but this project will be regarded as part of a projrct carried out by Wikimedia Small Project/ha which we are making preparations to open soon.
• Alright I reduce the total prize to 400 USD, and I update the budget accordingly.
• I reduce it to 10 maximum (T-shirts and bags together), while the budge turns to 200 USD as requested.----Anasskoko^Talk 14:13, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
