Grants talk:Project/MSIG/Adem/Movement Charter Ambassador Program
Feedback for Improvement
editHello @Adem Thank you for submitting your application to the Movement Charter Ambassador Program. We have reviewed your application and have the following feedback;
- Please note that the full Charter draft itself will be translated into Turkish language. This means you do not need to translate the Charter into Turkish. This means that you can focus your project on reaching out to your community and organizing meetings to collect feedback on the draft Charter in your language!
- We also noticed that you included other Meta pages to be translated into the Turkish language. Those do not need to be translated for this program currently. Instead, you can consider translating the the full draft Charter into other major languages in the Turkic region. As an example, it can be languages in Central Asia, such as Kazakh and/or Uzbek. You can rework your budget with the aim of covering more than one language community, as it is the last chance for the Wikimedia movement to share their feedback on the Charter, we want to try to include as many communities as possible.
- We expect that discussions and consultations will happen primarily online, and so certain budget line items listed will not be approved. These include costs associated to accommodation, transportation and meals.
- In summary, we strongly recommend that you consider organizing online meetings (Zoom) instead of in-person and translating the charter itself into the some of the major Turkic languages of the Central Asia region (for example) such as Kazakh or Uzbek. Instead of organizing a in-person meeting, consider organizing a Zoom call and inviting folks from the Turkish language community as well as communities from the Central Asia region, as it was done in the last year’s activities within the MCA activities.
If you agree with this feedback, please update your application by the end of Day on Friday the 15th of March. You can also reach out to @AAkhmedova (WMF) if you require some assistance or clarification on the feedback that has been shared.
Thank you, YPam (WMF) (talk) 12:01, 14 March 2024 (UTC)
Not Funded
editHello @Adem after careful consideration, this application is not being funded. The main reason being that the focus for this round of Movement Charter grants is region focused and so joint applications from cross-regional groups were prioritised. We appreciate your efforts to support your community and your interest in advancing the conversations and consultations on the Movement Charter. YPam (WMF) (talk) 08:52, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
