We ask you to respond to the following questions:

  1. In what ways do you think this research can support you or other members of the Wikimedia communities in the work that you do on the Wikimedia projects?
  2. What advice do you have for the authors to improve their research or the impact of their research? (We encourage you to share with the authors projects or initiatives that you think can benefit from the result of their research. This can help the authors connect their work with ongoing projects in the early stages of their research.)
  3. Please share any other feedback about this proposal that you think the Research Fund Committee should consider below.

The use of structured information for content creation is of course a major line of research, innovation Wikimedians, developers and researchers have worked on. I think the team would gain from getting to know experiments that were done in the same direction. So in general to have a detailed case does sound relevant. Yet, I have two concerns that I raise below.

N/A

I have two concerns with this project. Firstly, the database they intend to rely on is deemed unreliable by the Wikipedia in Portuguese community, per the unreliable source table. I understand the project is not an intervention on Wikipedia, as it intends to build a new Wikibase, yet for wider use by the community perhaps the researchers could choose a different database for their project. Secondly, I am concerned about licensing, as to the best of my knowledge content from Lattes is not under an open license. There is a general understanding that simple structured data is to be considered CC0 --even when this is not the license chosen by the original source from where the data is being extracted <nowiki>Template:Source needed</nowiki--, yet I am not sure how this would actually work with textual information being extracted from Lattes.
