Aminu Kano College of Education and Legal studies is among the college that has the most high population of the students and most of it's students are females, therefore I support this proposal because if this proposal organized at this college the women will have a full opportunity to build the Wikimedian projects by acquiring and sharing their knowledge. Their logo of 'woman can do what man can do better', it will be impact and real.

I am in support of this project because of the outlined strategies that will be implemented while carrying out the project. Wikipedia awareness has never taken place at Aminu Kano College of Education and Legal Studies, furthermore the college comprises of students from different community background and most of them are from Hausa speaking environment. So if this project is implemented in the college, more articles will be created and the less improved one will be improved.

I strongly support this project looking at the changes that the organiser is trying to bring; wikipedia awareness campaign have never taken place in the college, secondly, most of the students and the staff don't know wikipedia in terms of research and contents creation. So, I believe if this project is approved to be done in the college, it will no doubt bring the said changes.

Not funded edit

Hello A Sulaiman Z, thank you for submitting your grant application. We appreciate your interest in contributing to the mission of the Wikimedia Movement. We are continuously strengthening our grants review process, ensuring that grant funding is being invested towards impactful projects and efforts geared towards contributing to the mission of Wikimedia Movement in the most efficient and effective manner.

After a thorough review of your application, we have decided to not fund your Rapid Fund request. Here are the main reasons for our decision:

  • Lack of capacity: The applicant or the team did not show sufficient capacity and experience on and off Wikimedia projects to run the project. We recommend gaining more experience on Wikimedia projects as a contributor and trainer of proposed projects.
  • Lack of coordination and coordination: While you responded that there were no other applications in your local group, community or local region, we did find that you were included as a team member in at least one other application, which was similar to your proposal or there were similar applications by your team members. We request that for any future applications, you and other applicants work together and with your local affiliate in a coordinated manner to avoid duplications of efforts, low impact projects, and ensure efficient use of resources.

In the past 3 rounds we have declined two or more grant requests from you based on similar feedback and rationale. We noticed that you did not incorporate the feedback in subsequent applications. We request that you take some time to incorporate the feedback given and additionally find opportunities to coordinate and collaborate with your affiliate and team. In order to give you the time needed and to provide clarity around the requirements, you will not be eligible to apply for a Rapid Fund until Cycle 9, May 5th, and you must attend an office hour with the Program Officer in your region before making any application. You can find the schedule of the conversation hours here.
