Partially Funded edit

Hello @Abdullahalaba thank you for applying for the rapid fund grant. We reviewed and approved the grant in the amount of 1,308,000 NGN ($1,711.90 USD) with the following comments:

First, commendable that the team has outlined specific activities, both online and offline, that are structured and cover various aspects, ensuring a holistic approach to community building and content creation. Additionally, the project has included a youth safety plan, emphasizing the safety and well-being of participants, particularly those under the age of 18. This is commendable.

  • We recommend that the team reviews the budget line items related to signage and certificates. Consider having digital certificates instead.
  • While the activities are detailed, having clearer objectives are important. For instance, the goals for the focus on the projects selected (Commons, Wikidata, etc.).
  • Consider sustainability and wider community alignment. Will there be follow-up sessions or mentorship programs to support new editors as they continue contributing? Creating a structured follow-up plan will ensure that the skills acquired during the events are effectively utilized and contributors feel supported in their Wikimedia journey. Consider engaging with other community members within your region to identify potential overlaps or collaboration opportunities.
  • In relation to the last point, please share an outline how the project's progress will be documented and reported. Regular updates, blog posts, or reports on Wikimedia platforms can help the wider community track the project's activities and achievements. Transparency in reporting builds trust and demonstrates the project's impact.

Best of luck with your community-building efforts at Lead City University!
