Strong support: Their is need to keep on creating awareness about the Wiki movement. Constant training of newly recruited editors in order to sustain the Wiki movement. The strategies to be used is very appropriate. Looking forward to it --Princejvic (talk) 11:59, 18 oct 2022 (UTC)

Not funded edit

Hello JosefAnthony,

Thank you for submitting your grant application. We appreciate your interest in contributing to the mission of the Wikimedia Movement. We are continuously strengthening our grants review process, ensuring that grant funding is being invested towards impactful projects and efforts geared towards contributing to the mission of Wikimedia Movement in the most efficient and effective manner.

After a thorough review of your application, we have decided to not fund your Rapid Fund request. Here are the main reasons for our decision:

  • We think that the requested budget is not aligned with the desired impact. We recommend considering Wikimedia Nigeria User Group microgrants to support the project.
  • We think that the project plan is unclear. There are a few major concerns regarding:
    • Sustainability of the project.
    • Absence of a clear awareness plan.
    • Lack of clear focus.
    • Missing learnings.

Hi Davit,
thanks for your review and feedback.
For clarity...
The main goal and focus of this project is not only to create an awareness in the school but also to introduce Wikipedia and wikidata to the students. In-terms of learning, am hoping to learn that through the project, the recruited participants will all be groomed and become wiki enthusiasts thereby coming up with effective strategies of improving and creating new Wikipedia articles and wikidata items. (Awareness) There will be a campaign to advertise Wikimedia in the school… I will lead a team to the college academic offices and some target departments and lecture halls to explain wikipedia and wikidata, sharing printed fliers containing information about Wikipedia and its sister projects. banners, posters and stickers will also be placed on strategic areas of the school, also graphics posters will be posted to all association and students groups, by association presidents and class reps. (Sustainability of the project) the project will lead to creation of fan club in college of education, akwanga thereby engaging participants with more projects. Hoping to hearing from youǃ Thanks JosefAnthony (talk) 16:12, 17 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
