Not funded edit

Hello MrTallBoy,

Thank you for submitting your grant application. We appreciate your interest in contributing to the mission of the Wikimedia Movement. We are continuously strengthening our grants review process, ensuring that grant funding is being invested towards impactful projects and efforts geared towards contributing to the mission of Wikimedia Movement in the most efficient and effective manner.

Considering that:

  • Some of the activities overlap with the annual activities of Wikimedia Community User Group Rwanda.
  • Your team has applied to organize the WikiLoves Women SheSaid 2022 in Rwanda and the request has been approved. You have been supported by Wikimedia Community User Group Rwanda to run a local event for WikiVibrance.
  • The grant proposals seem mostly incomplete and similar to each other.
  • Community hasn't been notified as requested and Wikimedia Community User Group Rwanda hasn't been consulted.
  • Requested budgets are very similar. Requested expenses seem higher from the actual prices in Rwanda and the desired impact is not aligned with the impact.
  • Global Goals Week for Wiki Loves SDGs was on September 17-24, 2022 which is not aligned with the current funding cycle.

We have decided to not fund your Rapid Fund requests for Wikimedia Awareness Workshop and Edit-a-thon and Wiki Loves SDGs Rwanda Edit-a-thon 2022.
