I am excited to hear about this initiative. Living Heritage data is inconsistently gathered in many African countries. Wikimedia projects will benefit both the official inventorying efforts in the country and the visibility of the heritage elements on Wikimedia projects. Both of these crucially contribute to the safeguarding of the elements by raising awareness, engaging contributors in the documentation of the elements and allowing information about the elements to be accumulated in the open ecosystem. Furthermore, the practical local activities bring the safeguarding officials and organizations, the Wikimedia contributors and the heritage communities closer together to support each other and learn from each other in the safeguarding work. I wish success for the project!
