Comments from the MEA regional funds staff

Dear Jonywikis, thank you for submitting your grant application. We are glad to learn that you are planning to work towards improving the Wikimedia projects in Nigerian pidgin and build a community around them. We have reviewed the grant request and here are comments and questions:

• In question 1, please clarify the change you want to see. It's unclear what exactly you plan to do. Is your project about the Pidgin language or Lagos Wikimedians? Please also describe why the changes you want to see are important.
• Could you be more specific about the meetup? Who will be the participants and what exactly do you plan to discuss during this meetup? Please add the details to question 3.
• It's a bit unclear which is the main target community: Wikimedians of Lagos User Group or Nigerian Pidgin Wikimedains User Group? Please clarify this in question 9.
• Please revise the metrics section and adjust it with the planned activities. Example: you plan to invite 25 participants and run 3 editathons. However, the number of Wiktionary pages created is only 50. It means that each participant will only create less than 2 Wiktionary pages in all these events.
• Who will run the training sessions? Do they have relevant experience on Wikimedia projects? Please add your response to question 5.
• Are you a Nigerian Pidgin native speaker? Do you have other speakers in the team? Please add your response to question 5.
• How specifically will you invite Nigerian Pidgin speakers? Please update question 11.
• Are both Nigerian Pidgin Wiktionary and Wikipedia on Incubator? Add your response to question 2 or 3.

Please make these changes on Fluxx. Log in to the Grantee Portal and you will see your application in the 'Proposals need attention' section. Please edit and submit your application by Jun 23, 2022.
