Grants talk:Programs/Wikimedia Community Fund/Rapid Fund/Kiwix Training for Schools in Tanzania (ID: 22254580)

Partially Funded edit

Hello @Pellagia Njau thank you for applying for the rapid fund grant. We reviewed and approved the grant in the amount of 10,042,631 TZS (4,000 USD) with the following comments:

  • The application identifies a pressing issue: lack of internet access in developing communities due to cost and infrastructure challenges. However, it is important to provide details regarding the change that you seek to achieve through this project. How will offline access to Wikimedia content (via Kiwix) address this challenge? Providing a detailed explanation of how you intend to use Kiwix to empower students and educators, enhancing their learning experiences, could strengthen the proposal.
  • Since the project involves interaction with students, ensuring their safety online is paramount. Even if direct engagement with children is not planned, having a youth safety policy or guidelines for trainers and mentors would demonstrate a commitment to ensuring a safe learning environment for all participants.
  • Finally, it is unclear how, the team intends to engage and collaborate with other Kiwix4Schools ambassadors. We strongly recommend that the team kicks off this project with a meeting with other ambassadors to clearly outline project coverage, goals and objectives to ensure alignment and to avoid duplications.

Dear Yop
Thank you for this comment,
In this project, I'm planning to increase awareness about Wikimedia activities to students without accessing the internet.
I will also check on how to collaborate with others ASAP. Pellagia Njau (talk) 10:43, 30 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
