Endorsment from Jamex18 (talk) edit

Strong support: I think the strategy of providing translation for the material to be used will be an effective one. Since it will be easier for editors to understand the learning in their local language (gungbe). I will be happy to be part of this project. --Jamex18 (talk) 07:42, 11 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Endorsement from Michaelgraaf (talk) edit

Support. Regarding the question of contribution to Movement Strategy, this will illustrate the inclusivity the movement seeks. Michaelgraaf (talk) 19:52, 11 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Strong support: I am endorsing this project because of the clarity on what the outcome should look like. I can see example of the expected Wikinews article in the proposal. I see in the budget that a mini microphone is requested for participation editors to help to record the news and serve as a souvenir. I am very sure that this item will improve the quality of the output and will encourage the editors to keep recording audio news.

Endorsment from DonKevin (talk) edit

Support: I am endorsing this project because of its uniqueness and what it stands for. Seeing a wikinews in an African language is good for the African Wikimedians. The success of this project will open up future research on how wikinews can be successful as a Wikimedia project especially in an African language. The proposal focuses on investing in skills of potential wikinews editors and I am very glad to be involved in the implementation.

Strong support. This project will help participants to learn how to incorporate the knowledge of Wikimedia Commons to Wikinews. It will serve as a way of improving and honing the skills of Wikimedia editors.

Not Funded edit

Hello Sagbosam, thank you for applying for a Rapid Grant. After reviewing your application, we have decided not to fund this project. The main reason being that this user is associated with a series of banned users. We strongly recommend that you do not apply for any grants (in this user name or any associated with it) until all issues are resolved.

Best regards, (On behalf of the Middle East and Africa regional funds team) ~~~~ YPam (WMF) (talk) 17:53, 23 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello @YPam (WMF), Thank you for your feedback. Your feedback is not clear to me. I do not know that I am banned. And I do not know the "series of banned users" that I am connected to. I will welcome a clearer feedback on this. Thank you. Sagbosam (talk) 09:32, 28 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hello @Sagbosam Please reach out to the Wikimedia Nigeria User Group to help clear up these potential associations. YPam (WMF) (talk) 13:16, 3 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hello @YPam (WMF), this response gives me a cause for concern. I was thinking you will list or share a link to the page of the supposed "series of banned users" that I am associated with. Asking me to reach out to Wikimedia Nigeria User Group to help clear up "these potential associations" makes me wonder if my private data during the application process is compromised because I have no history with the Wikimedia Nigeria User Group. I did not apply to Wikimedia Nigeria User Group and they were not involved in the application and the initial feedback given. I await your response on the "series of banned users" that I am associated with and an assurance that my private data during the application is safe. Sagbosam (talk) 07:41, 5 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
