Initial suggestions from the South Asia Regional Funds Committee

Hi @BHARATHESHA ALASANDEMAJALU, The South Asia Regional Funds Committee would love to congratulate the applicants for their honest concern to preserve their native folk culture.

Here are some initial suggestions:

1.As an initial activity (before the video documentation) it is essential that all theoretical references regarding Siddhavesa are documented and made available across the team.

2.The project can create a very good short film or documentary as a major outcome on this particular subject.We are providing a link for reference: https://youtu.be/LQAekxNeaHY

3. Dr.Aaryaa Joshi member of the South Asia Regional Funds Committee was a script writer for the documentary that has been shared above. She along with Mr.Dhananjay Mehendale (producer of the documentary) is willing to engage with the project team and provide ideas as necessary. If there are no research articles based on this subject the team can collaborate with Dr. Aaryaa Joshi (she is a researcher specialising in this particular field). The collaboration should also explore the publication of a peer reviewed article on the documentation efforts.

4. Exhibition of the images that would be captured during the project should be another outcome.

5. As this is a cultural topic there will be several relevant sub themes related with the main theme.The project team must try and find a method to cover a large number of concepts during the documentation. These themes (both main themes and sub themes) must be part of the output metrics and should be reflected in various forms like photos, creation of new articles etc.

6. Please provide a detailed budget across the various line items and mark milestones for the usage of the amount (for eg: end of 30 days - milestone achieved and total amount budget utilised)

7. It is our suggestion that this effort should be planned as a long term engagement and not as a one time activity. We will be happy to meet with the project team to discuss the suggestions and a possible collaboration if necessary. • An article by Dr.Poovappa Kaniyuru Published in Local Magazine

2. Yes, thank you for the link. Our team will go through it in detail, and we are referring to Kannada Abhivrudhi Praadhikaara and the Karnataka Government's some exclusive documentation about the folklore of Tulunadu as well as Karnataka State. Some are listed below.

3. We are happy to discuss this with Dr. Aaryaa Joshi and Mr. Dhananjay Mehendale about their experience. It will be an excellent motivator for our team.  Please note that We team already contacted Dr.Purushothama Bilimale, Folklorist, Former Professor of Kannada Centre for Indian Languages, School of Literature and Culture Studies Jawaharlal Nehru University, Dr.Sundara Kenaje, Expert in Documentation of Folklore, Folklorist from our Region(He is the filmmaker behind the aforementioned documentary), Mr.Yadupathi Gowda, Principal of Vani College, Belthangady, Ujire, Mangalore, He had extensive folklore experience and worked at the REGIONAL RESOURCES CENTRE FOR FOLK PERFORMING ARTS, UDUPI (RRC). RRC has recorded and textualized a umpteen number of the songs and dialogues relating to spirit worship, oral epics, and folk narratives of the region pertaining to folk heroes, folk deities, etc.(https://www.mgmudupi.ac.in/regionalresearch.php), Dr.Vishwanatha Badikana, Assistant Professor, St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, He is one of the coordinators of this documentation project, and he himself is a folklorist.
