Ups... 3500 EUR salary + 3500 EUR for allowances is quite high IMHO. It is above the average salary in public sector in Finland... Is there any rationale for such a high salary??? Polimerek (talk) 20:46, 4 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

The amount of the salary can of course be discussed. By the allowances I understand you mean the employer costs, that are an expense 30% on top of the net salary. So, the line item says the employer costs are 30% of the salary amount. I will change the wording from expenses to employer costs. There are no allowances in the sum, only costs that are not covered by Wikimedia Suomi budget for 2013. --Susannaanas (talk) 10:19, 5 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the submission. Firstly, it's much easier for us to evaluate a single request focusing on the same project rather than including parts of the costs in the annual grant and other costs in a separate grant requests, so please make sure that it's really necessary to separate it into two different requests submitted at the same time. Regarding the request, my first concern is the lack of quantitative measures of success for these activities. In the budget you include an annual salary for the project's coordinator, although there is a similar item for the same position in your annual grant. Can you explain the difference? Do you intend to hire two different persons to coordinate with the project, among which the one will work for a one-year term while the other one for a half-year? Best regards.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 01:53, 5 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

This submission is for year 2013, as the annual budget is for 2014. This application includes only costs for the Wikimaps project, that are not covered by Wikimedia Suomi budget for 2013. The annual plan application covers all activities, including the Wikimaps project. There is only one month's salary in this application. In the 2014 annual plan there are 2 positions for 6 months half-time. The first one has been agreed to be used for the Wikimaps project, and the second one can be used with a different profile, if needed.
We will revise the quantitative measures, if requested. --Susannaanas (talk) 10:34, 5 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. So, this request is actually intended to refund the costs that were done during this year. Best.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 00:12, 6 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

The items in this submission have now been transferred to the WMFI 2014 submission. --Susannaanas (talk) 00:29, 8 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

  1. Interesting project, fits within Grants:WM_FI/WMFI_2014 MADe (talk) 18:32, 1 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
  2. For your information, I asked to be in the group and to participate in the project. I think that there is no COI as I was not informed about it previously but I get in touch with the team only after this application. --Ilario (talk) 13:02, 3 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
  3. The project is fine and the documentation of all the activities appears to be cogent.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 00:13, 6 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Fold into WMFI 2014 grant edit

Thanks for this proposal. As its major benefit, as well as its rationale, are inextricable from the 2014 proposal by WMFI, I ask that you absorb this request in that one. I.e. add these items to that budget, and the relevant bits of context (e.g. why retroactive funding for Wikimania attendance is sought) to the appropriate sections in that proposal. We will then evaluate only that proposal, all together. Thanks. Asaf Bartov (WMF Grants) talk 23:31, 6 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
