Report Accepted edit

Thank you for your comprehensive report. Your interim report has been accepted. We have a couple follow-up questions below and would appreciate your response. Please note, your responses do not impact the status of this report as accepted.

  1. This interim report covers May-November 2013 and the end date of the grant was December 31, 2013. Please let us know when we can expect your final report. AWang (WMF) (talk) 18:14, 27 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
  2. Please offer some context around how the Wikiconferece program was planned. It sounds like it had a strong training element and focused on partnerships. Was the program developed in coordiation with the Board of Directors? The community? AWang (WMF) (talk) 18:14, 27 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
  3. Regarding future outreach focused on seniors, we definitely agree that the Third Age demographic seems like a good target for recruiting more Wikpedia contributors considering their knowledge, free time, etc. However, based on past grantee experiences, we would advise starting with a careful pilot project to see if focusing on the Third Age population would actually be successful. Please see Wikimedia Switzerland's Senior Communities Report for reference. AWang (WMF) (talk) 18:14, 27 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Dear Alex, we're glad to hear the report has been accepted. Regarding your questions:
  1. The last event that was part of the grant was the Wikiconference that is already covered in the last interim report (with the exception of additional ~19 USD of travel and printing expenses that were added to the ticket after the interim report was published). So the final report will not be describing anything new, only summing up three years of the project. However this involves sorting through almost a hundred expense tickets, and we would like to write a report that makes sense as a whole, we'd like to ask for a few more weeks.
  2. I belive the program planning was done by the conference organizing team, mostly by Michal Reiter, who is also our chapter's chairman. He solicited contributions from chapters' members as well as from various wiki projects.
  3. Thank you, I will pass this link to people working on this.

Hi, I am Vojtech from the Education team. The senior program is definitely going to start as a pilot. The expenses are currently set to be very low, as is actually the case with the Student education program (if that is what you worry about). Thank you for your advice. We are well aware of the difficulties but we believe our exceptional experience can help us overcome them. --Vojtech.dostal (talk) 07:55, 13 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hi Vojtech. Great to hear the senior program is going to start as a small pilot. We will definitely be interested in your experience with the pilot, considering the challenges other organizations have had with targeting that demographic. We would appreciate any learnings you may have that we can share with the community. Alex Wang (WMF) (talk) 22:48, 18 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hi Petr, thank you for the information. Can you please give me a specific proposed date for your final report submission? Alex Wang (WMF) (talk) 01:08, 13 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
We plan to submit the final report by 9th March, I hope that's acceptable. --Petr Novák (che) 22:11, 18 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hi Petr. Submitting your final report by 9 March 2014 is fine. Please let me know if you have any problems completing your report. Alex Wang (WMF) (talk) 22:48, 18 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
