Grants talk:PEG/User:LLRungegordon/Wikipedia edit-a-thon for the Aphra Behn Society/Report

Hi LLRungegordon. Thank you so much for this detailed report and apologies for the delay in review. We really appreciate the time put into reporting and reflecting on lessons learned. Overall, it sounds like you were successful in creating high quality content in an underrepresented area! It's great to hear that you had so much support from Wikimedia NYC and were able to engage folks online as well as in person. Partnering with teachers sounds like a good way to get students involved. Have you been able to maintain those connections since the editathon? Do you know if anyone who attended the panel has used Wikipedia in the classroom?

In terms of retaining editors, we did run the metrics on the "likely attendees" and "remote participants" on the event page to see of people are still editing. It looks like, of those 27 usernames, 4 were new editors, 23 were existing editors, and 15 of them are rolling active editors. I'm not sure how closely this matches your list of people that attended the event in the end, but this would be a very good retention rate!

If you plan on holding another editathon at the 2017 meeting, it's definitely a good idea to plan earlier! Hopefully you can use the same great name badges : )

Thank you again for your work and this report. Cheers, Alex Wang (WMF) (talk) 22:19, 27 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
