Report accepted edit

Thank you for the report and the detailed statistics regarding contributions. This report is accepted.

You state in the report, "Running mid-term competitions can help retaining editors". We're interested in learning more about what you mean. Are you collecting or planning to collect any data regarding participants' contributions over time in order to determine if they are continuing to contribute, or is your statement based on some other evidence such as surveys or conversations with the participants that indicate that they will continue editing as a result of their participation?

Regarding the remaining funds, WMF and the GAC are reviewing your new grant submission, so please monitor the discussion page of that new request for comments and questions.

Hi Winifred. Thank you for your question.
Since the term of each round is 6 months, we believe that this will encourage editors to make contributions for a rather long time span motivated by the monetary prize. Although we didn't collect any data on this, we've noticed that most of the participants continued to contribute to Wikipedia on similar bases even after the end of the contest, and some of them were even nominated to become Admins after while. That said, it is definitely a good idea to collect data on users contributions and analyse numerically the effect of running such contests on editor retention. Thank you. --Ciphers (talk) 18:35, 23 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
