Information is a powerful tool

I know that there a many times when I am the only one or one of very few women who are participating in creating a particular article through edits or through discussion. The same is true of policy discussions and WMF committees that I've been member. When I point this out, people are really shocked because it is never that way in the real world anymore in most aspects of life in the United States where I live.

I think that doing research and then speaking about it loud and often could help more people understand the situation. Sydney Poore/FloNight (talk) 01:45, 20 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Is it possible to identify ethnicity and gender? I don't think wikipedia can require people to report these things. Maybe a select group of volunteers could work on fixing a fake article, instead or just compare articles that are relevant to minorities to other articles. --Xttina.Garnet (talk) 17:42, 24 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
