AFAICT, nothing changes: this just codifies the reality of the status quo. It's a pity that new registrations get an even bigger prominence, when they are so rarely meaningful... Nemo 09:40, 4 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Nemo - I completely agree that at this point we've made mostly incremental changes (e.g. clarifying definitions, reducing the number of metrics). However, this was mostly because there aren't easy-to-use / easy-to-adapt tools available to collect the metrics respondents indicated they wanted, specifically "content pages disaggregated by project" and "new user retention". The goal of making these incremental improvements was that we could at least address these smaller issues now (as they were still causing problems), and take on larger projects over the course of this year to address the bigger issues (e.g. the lack of tools, out of date tools, confusing resources, etc.). I too wish we could have made all the changes people suggested, but at least now we have a plan for the upcoming year. I hope this clarifies why these changes looked the way it did! -- Shouston (WMF) (talk) 22:21, 12 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
