Can we apply if we are in a country with a chapter?

How does this coordinate with chapters? I live in a country where a chapter exists, can I still apply for a grant here? WereSpielChequers (talk) 14:26, 31 January 2017 (UTC)

@WereSpielChequers: Historically we have funded programs and activities run separate from the Chapter through grants during these kinds of campaigns (for example, Grants:Project/ContentMine/WikiFactMine (in UK) or Grants:PEG/User:Aliceba/Empowering_Afrodescendant_women_in_Wikipedia/Report (in NYC)). Since the goal of this campaign is to develop pilots of programs and activities that reach new outreach communities, it shouldn't compete with existing efforts by chapters and needs to meet the requirements of the various grants programs (Grants:Project/Learn for example). Thanks, appreciate that. WereSpielChequers (talk) 16:51, 31 January 2017 (UTC)
I was wondering about this as well. We in Wikimedia Belgium started an almost identical campaign. If anyone wants to organise anything in Belgium, we would love to hear from them and work together on this. We are as chapter looking for more initiatives we can support, and the initiatives supported in this campaign are very welcome! We also have budget to support these ideas and activities. Be welcome! Please keep me updated if any from our country wants to start something. Thanks! Romaine (talk) 01:01, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

Are you aware that the logo used is the 2011 edition of the Wikimedia family logo? This file has not been updated since and misses the wikis Wikidata and Wikivoyage. Does this mean that those projects are excluded? See also: c:File:Wikimedia logo family complete-2013.svg. Romaine (talk) 00:51, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

@Romaine: Absolutely not, ideas for those projects are also welcome. I considered that family logo, but took exception to the fact that the WMF logo was front-and-center rather than one of the actual projects that volunteers contribute to. I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 05:50, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

w:Wikipedia:Expert help

So I recently created w:Wikipedia:Expert help which aims to provide help with networking experts and Wikipedians seeking experts. Content of the page (especially the "Ways to improve the help requester<->expert interface" section) is probably relevant here (and vice-versa).

I'm not sure if this should be moved to the /Meta page. Anyways I'd be interested to hear what you think of it and whether some content of it might be, in some shape or form, be relevant here...

For instance there might be specific methods to implement the "ways to improve the help requester<->expert interface" that might be relevant here. Or there could be some GUI overlays, notification systems or alike for the already existing relevant category systems described there.

@Fixuture: I think this project page and some of your suggested improvements are a really good fit for the campaign-- connecting contributors to experts can be a really productive way to improve the quality of article content, for instance. Do you need help moving the idea into the campaign? I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 20:48, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
