Grants talk:IdeaLab/Community Leadership Mentoring

With respect to measuring a diversity goal - what about seeing how many other diverse people the grantee gets to work on Wikipedia by the end of the project? or perhaps a few months later.

  • Although the idea is good: Community Leadership Mentoring, the ideas about the execution of it are lame in the extreme. Using onwiki interest groups, prior editathons and photowalks (sic!)! That won't do much good and I don't want people to spend one dollar on such an initiative. If you want to mentor people, why don't you create your own youtube channel and make youtube videos. It has a global reach. That will be worth the money. Wereldburger758 (talk) 05:41, 6 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Developing the idea as a grant proposal edit

@Sumanah: hi there, I wanted to check in and see if you are interested in turning this into a grant proposal - and if not, whether you may have others in mind who may want to work on this or further develop the idea before the deadline on March 31. I like this idea and would love to see it fleshed out a bit more, but also appreciate and understand that you haven't yet indicated interest in taking on a larger role (like project manager or community organizer). -Thepwnco (talk) 21:28, 17 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Thepwnco: - thanks for checking in. I'm thinking about it but haven't decided yet, and I don't have anyone in mind yet, I'm sorry to say. I have not yet decided whether I want to submit and/or run this myself, and I would welcome someone else picking this up and running it. Sumana Harihareswara 13:48, 19 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
