Some remarks by WMNL
editFirst of all, we want to compliment WMF staff on the job done. It is a huge amount of work to review all proposals and, as usual, it was done with dedication and integrity.
We have just two remarks concerning the staff assessment:
- Community involvement.
- This concerns the following remark "Wikimedia Nederland relies on a small but committed community of volunteers. We need to see this community of volunteers growing alongside increases in program activity and budget. Planned work in community health may enable that." We are happy to say that over the past three years the number of community members actively involved in developing and implementing WMNL activities had doubled. There are now some 50 individuals who take an active role in on-wiki and off-wiki activities as organisers.
- External funding
- We acknowledge the need to mobilise external funds and also acknowledge that the results this year are disappointing, especially compared to 2014 when we exceeded our target. We would like to point out that due to staff changes we were short 0,5 fte in project management for most of the year. This meant that we had to set priorities and we prioritised ensuring continuity in our programmes over fundraising, also in view of our reserves. As of January 1 our team will be complete again and we will be able to give external fundraising more attention.
