Project summary

"If a language can not be read and written, it will go extinct in a matter of few years" this is the major motivation behind our interest to make an awareness in Lagos State University. It's usage and improvements. native speakers of the yoruba language as well as students of the yoruba department will be invited for this event.

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

yes, we will onboard new members and train them on creating articles on yo.wikipedia and an edit-a-thon then follows.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

through the whatsapp platform and personal engagements.

It will be holding on the main LASU campus, Ojo, to help engage the members.

Dorcas is an experienced yo.wikipedia editor. She will facilitate the training. Abdulqudus is also a good yorubabtutor, he will assist in the process.
