  • The Wiki4NaijaWomen/My African Woman is a project designed to celebrate the remarkable efforts of the intellectual African women and "blue stockings" who have demonstrated some heroic expertise relating to our three thematic areas.It's pertinent to showcase their formidable contributions to the key African issues and agendas. And more crucially, this project aims at explaining their hitherto inspiring efforts towards the alleviation of the overarching gendal discrimination and gendered stereotyping of African women. Equally important, this project is aimed at showcasing their lived experiences and present this before the world,as well as celebrating their gender and all what it abounds.Hence,the KWASU Fan Club will be glad to host it in her Club for the very first time to further educate the students on how to improve the credibility of content on Wikipedia.

Project Goal edit

  1. Recruit new editors.
  2. Increase skills for existing editors.
  3. Add or improve citation content in Wikipedia articles that are more related to African women.
  4. Promote the use of Wikipedia as a reference tool for showcasing the contributions of the intellectual African women to the resolution of African issues and agendas.

  • Two online trainings and two physical editathon

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. 3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

We will promote the campaign through the fan club's official Social Media platforms (Facebook, and Twitter). We will also communicate with the participants through a fan clubs' WhatsApp group and the club executives will visit various departments within the school to inform them.

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them? Yes, they have their mobile phones and Personal PC to use for this Project.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

The WhatsApp group will be for follow-up to further engage them. The group will provide them with tips on using citation hunts tool, adding verifiable and reliable references to articles on Wikipedia and also to answer them if there is any clarification they need.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

  • An outreach dashboard will be created for this campaign and also Hastags(1Lib1RefNG) will used to track every activities done for the project.

Habeeb has participated in different campaigns and programmes of the Wikimedia such as the awareness campaign for the lunch of the Wikimedia Fan Club Kwara State University, WIKI loves SDG Campus tour, Wiki-in-school mentorship programme, Art+ Feminism campaign, Wiki4HumanRight campaign,etc.
  • User: Margob28 She is an academics in the field of Linguistics. She is currently employed by the Kwara State University, Malete, Nigeria. She is the staff adviser for the The Wikimedia Fan Club Kwara State University, She was Part of the Participants chosen to organize the Wiki in Schools Campaign in Nigeria.
