This project is aimed at improving the visibility of Secondary Schools in Anambra State, so as to help secondary schools in Anambra be globally accessible and recognised, this project aims to create this visibility through the Wikidata platform, the Project aims to train participants on how to create content and items for secondary schools in Anambra State that are not yet on wikidata and also how to translate articles on this topic to various languages with our focus on the Igbo language.

Project Goal

The project aims to recruit new editors, who are mostly students and lecturers in Nnamdi Azikiwe University into the Wikimedia foundation.
The project also aims to add and improve contents on the secondary schools in Anambra State, as alot of this schools either do not exist or need further improvement on Wikidata.

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

The project aims to have one physical training session and an edit-a-thon contest that will run for two weeks with prizes to encourage the participants to put in extra effort in creating and improving good contents on wikidata.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

I have created awareness on the Wikimedia Anambra Network WhatsApp group, in the NAU fan club and also in the group I created for students and lecturers in Nnamdi Azikiwe University who are willing to be Wikimedia contributors.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

Participants will be informed about the edit-a-thon during the Physical training session and also information about the edit-a-thon will also be communicated on the various Wikimedia Groups like Wikimedia Anambra Network group, NAU wiki fan club and other Wikimedia Groups.

The Participants have all the necessary equipment to contribute high quality content during this project.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

I will keep participants engaged through the Wikimedia Anambra Network WhatsApp group, NAU wiki fan club and the lecture and students group created for participants in Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

This project is targeted at improving the visibility of secondary schools in Anambra State to help the educational system in Anambra state remain prolonged and have global recognition in the educational global system.

Metrics tracking

How do you plan to track your project metrics? (do not create a metrics dashboard until your project has been approved for funding) A dashboard will be created once the Project is approved which will help in tracking the contributions of participants and also X-tools will also be used for proper confirmation of every participants contributions to the Project.

I have an android phone and also a Mifi for a stable network throughout the training session.

My name is Okeke Chioma Bibiana with the username User: Bibisuccess I am an experienced Wikimedian and also the organiser of this project,User:Senator Choko Will be one of the facilitators and will train the participants on how to create new contents on wikidata, while User: Adimora chidinma will also be a facilitator and will train participants on how to translate articles on wikidata. Both co-facilitators are also experienced Wikimedians. I won't be receiving support from anywhere else in any kind whether donations or funding. What resources do you need?
