Budget breakdown
edit- Registration and State reporting fees UAH 11200 ~= USD 1400 [1]
- Travels and meals UAH 8000 ~= USD 1000 [2]
- Office supplies 8000 hrn ~= USD 1000 [3]
- Publishing leaflets about WM projects UAH 8000 ~= USD 1000 [4]
- Renting a room for meetings, press conferences: UAH 16000 ~= USD 2000
1. The Registration and State reporting fees consist of
- Documentary stamp tax, Notarial fees, Legal entity registration fees, Bank account opening fee: UAH 4000 (USD 500)
- Fees for preparing monthly reporting to state (needs outsourcing to an auditing company) 12 x 600 = UAH 7200 (USD900)
2. Travel and meal fees include:
- Travel wikimedians from different Ukrainian cities for taking part in the conference. For example, a single train ticket from Lviv to Kyiv costs about UAH 150 hrn (USD 20). As we plan to invite 10 participants, travel cost will take about 150 x 2 x 10 = UAH 3000 h (USD 450)
- Accommodation fee. Booking a room in a two star hotel in Kyiv costs about UAH 300 for a person per night. As we want to invite 10 participants, accommodation will take about 300 х 10 = UAH 3000 hrn (USD 450)
- meal (coffee breaks) UAH 800 (USD 100)
3. We need an LCD projector and a screen to make presentations of Wikimedia projects in our conferences. This will cost 7000+1000= UAH 8000 (USD 1000)
4. We plan to publish about 3000 leaflets on how to write/edit articles in Wikipedia for disseminating them among educational and GLAM organizations.
Project scope
editAs a recently-incorporated chapter, Wikimedia Ukraine seeks to build up its structural support base in order to sustain the projects which it plans to pursue. We need to finish process of our state legalization and to open a bank account and a couple of electronic accounts to start fund-raising.
The next significant step is popularization of our projects and involving more and more people to Wikimedia movement. For this purpose we want to publish and to disseminate leaflets about WM project and to make a Ukrainian wikimedia conference.
Project goal
editThe goals of this project are
- to finish the WM Ukraine legalization
- to build the conditions for involving people to join Wikimedia movement
Non-financial requirements
editNone.
Fit to strategy
editUkrainian media has shown interest in Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects in several occasions. Also the interest shown by our prominent science and cultural figures. This project will thus provide Wikimedia with a tangible, reachable organization that can better spread the mission of the foundation and broaden the understanding of the inner workings of the Wikimedia projects in the Ukrainian society.
Other benefits
editWe believe, our actions may also persuade content owners to free up their material and therefore we could enrich the value of Wikimedia Foundation projects.
Measures of success
editWe will consider this project a success if we become able to manage such actions as conferences or workshops, and if we will be able to start our fund-raising process that make us a full-fledged participant of international Wikimedia movement.
