Budget breakdown

edit

The grant will be used to produce educational and tutorial videos about Wikipedia. The budget would cover any staff fees that we cannot cover by volunteers (videographer, voice actor, director, creative designer, etc.) and all the associated technical fees (equipment hire, software costs).

Project scope

edit

The aim of this project is to create tutorial and educational videos for Wikipedia in Hungarian. We would like to build on the work already done through the Bookshelf project and especially Wikimedia Italia to create videos adapted to the Hungarian audience (with Hungarian audio and examples).

Project goal

edit

The goal of this project is to create Wikipedia tutorial videos and use them to promote the projects.

Non-financial requirements

edit

We might want to consult the Wikimedia Foundation's outreach staff members on this project; otherwise none.

Fit to strategy

edit

This project will increase participation by involving more people in editing or at least understanding how the projects work. The videos might have a positive effect on Wikipedia's credibility.

Other benefits

edit

Measures of success

edit

We will consider this project a success if we produce at least 1 educational video that can be used either on its own (e.g. on blogs, YouTube, school presentations) or as accompanying help to Wikipedia's help pages.

The measurable impact of this project is the number of videos produced and the aggregated number of views these videos receive.
