Outcome
edit- Option 1: Shared Experience: What is one way you shared something from your experience with your community (either locally or globally), after the event?
- As a community, we learned a lot about the need for people from various communities and backgrounds to meet and interact with each other. In particular, the meetup of Indian Wikimedians we had discussed the need for having a meet-up of Wikimedians from India, both to discuss the future for the Indian community, and to learn more just from being around other Wikimedians. As a direct consequence of it, India Community Consultation 2014 happened, followed rather quickly by WikiConference India 2016.
- Option 2: Learning Pattern: What is one useful learning pattern you can share with the Wikimedia movement?
- This learning pattern was a direct consequence of one of the rountables I attended at Wikimania - Making panel discussions (or roundtables) more productive
Connections
editI encountered a ton of people who I already knew onWiki and had been around for a long time, due to various collaborations. Apart from those, there were also a lot of Indian Wikimedians, many of who lived relatively close to me, that I was unaware of. I got to meet and interact with a lot of them and later on built valuable connections for the same.
Anything else
editThis was really helpful in terms of how many ways one can interact and help contribute to the larger Wiki movement. An experience based on one's own background is always much less comprehensive compared to the breadth of experience that interacting with peers of differing backgrounds provide.
