Outcome

edit
Option 1: Shared Experience: What is one way you shared something from your experience with your community (either locally or globally), after the event?
Add a link here to a blog post or newsletter you wrote about your participation afterwards, or to a meet-up you organized to share your experience with your local community.
Option 2: Learning Pattern: What is one useful learning pattern you can share with the Wikimedia movement?
Add a link to a learning pattern - either a new pattern you created with insights from your participation, or an existing pattern to which you added your endorsement and some significant new "considerations" or “examples” from your experience.
Option 3: New Creation: What was one useful outcome that was created at the event for the Wikimedia movement?
I was excited by the IdeaLab mixer, which encouraged me to help participate at the IdeaLab workshop session. There, I used the new create an idea forms gadget to whip up a barebones draft for 'gamifying microcontributions'. In speaking later with User:Protonk, I suggested he take on the idea and propose it for an IEG this grant round. He spent the next 2 weeks expanding in great detail, and here is the result: Grants:IdeaLab/Gamified_Microcontributions_on_Wikipedia. I hope to continue advising on the project through the proposal period and hopefully through its execution!

Connections

edit

I attended the Grants Learning Day, the Research Hackathon, presented on 2 panels--about social media and diversity in grantmaking, gave a talk about The Wikipedia Library, gave a talk about The Wikipedia Adventure, and partnered with a coder from Europeana to build a new browser extension that will show archival content on live Wikipedia articles.
