Proposed Participation
editI will be presenting a topic at the SMWCon conference. I manage and support an internal MediaWiki installation at my employer - Mercy. Goal and Expected Impact
editI hope to advocate for the use of MediaWiki in a large, complicated and diverse organization such as a healthcare provider. I hope that by presenting on our use of Semantic MediaWiki we can provide a positive use case for a decentralized knowledge management system like MediaWiki. My presentation encompass both the technical nature of using wikis (managing users, organizing content, etc.) and the cultural and organizational aspects of working across teams in a highly segmented organization. By using MediaWiki we're working together to create a large repository of information for use by leaders that will positively impact the quality and efficiency of the care we provide at Mercy.
