Proposed participation edit

How will your participation at this event further the Wikimedia Mission?

Street Art learning expedition in Paris

The learning expedition is integrated in an open source project about future of work in collaborative spaces. We will visit MIT firsrt Fablab and four collaborative spaces each day as we already have done in Berlin, Milan, Roma, Paris, Geneva and London.

I am the community manager, webmaster and coordinator of Paris chapter, and I will present my work as community manager of two collaborative spaces. I will be inviting my fellow community managers to collaborate on improving it. I have prepared specific activities for them to engage with, as newbies, and there will be a WikiProject ready to receive them on the French and English Wikipedia. I want to further our mission of scientific accessibility through many media (Twitter, Youtube, events) with a new box: Wikipedia, with Wikimedia commons and articles in Wikipedia.

Goal and expected impact edit

As a result of my talk and travel, everyone in the group will become aware of the portal on society, technology and philosophy (Merleau-Ponty and phenomenology are my framework). Moreover, all the members of the research group will be aware of the use of Wikipedia in research projects and for opening science to practicioners.

Additionally, some fraction of the audience will take a more active interest and contact me by e-mail or directly join the WikiProject. I will organise a workshop called OwritingEE (Open Writing Event-based Experimentation) to write all together the first article of the project and to select the media that will be part of wikimedia commons.

Budget breakdown edit

  • Travel (round trip airfare from Paris to Boston on July): USD 1100
  • Accommodation: USD 120 per night x 3 nights = USD 360
  • Admission fees = USD 100
  • Meals+Transportation = USD 240

Other instructions edit

I would need advance disbursement so I can take plane tickets and location.

Endorsements edit
