- El proyecto de investigación ha completado su tercera fase de las seis planeadas. Aunque no es lo esperado, está siendo bastante enriquecedor ésta experiencia.

How have you setup your project, and what work has been completed so far?
Describe how you've setup your experiment or pilot, sharing your key focuses so far and including links to any background research or past learning that has guided your decisions. List and describe the activities you've undertaken as part of your project to this point.
Hasta los momentos no existió alguna investigación sobre el éxito o declive de los proyectos pequeños en comparación con los desarrollados. El punto de inicio fue mediante el uso de las estadísticas de la Fundación, que imprecisas y poco fiables, servían para fundamentar la solicitud.
Las cinco fases corresponden a lo siguiente:
- Fase uno: Investigación preliminar; mediante mensaje a todas las comunidades en sus respectivos espacios de discusión, preguntamos su opinión sobre el progreso o declive de sus proyectos en específico, así como una potencial solución si existiese. Un total de siete comunidades fueron notificadas: tres respondieron, cinco no. De esas tres, dos comunidades dieron una detallada y extensa respuesta de la problemática respectiva en sus comunidades. Inició el 16 de agosto y finalizó el 17 de septiembre.
- Fase dos: Revisión de información; durante el 18 de septiembre y hasta el 23 de septiembre, los investigadores estuvieron revisando la información obtenida y resaltando los puntos importantes.
- Fase tres: Encuesta a los afiliados; del 23 de septiembre al 23 de octubre 14 afiliados agrupados en Iberocoop les fue enviado una encuesta. De los 14, solo un voluntario no afiliado respondió la encuesta.
Las fases de arriba fueron completadas, quedando las siguientes dos fases en espera.
- Fase cuatro: Taller de capacitación.
- Fase cinco: Revisión de información sobre los talleres de capacitación.
- Fase seis: Entrega del reporte junto con los resultados de la investigación

- El 50% del proyecto ha sido completado.
- Hemos obtenido excelentes respuestas que predicen el temor que llevó en primer lugar iniciar este proyecto de investigación.
- Desafortunadamente, la respuesta de los afiliados ha sido pobre. No hemos obtenido ninguna información de ellos.

- Los afiliados Wikimedia a quienes hemos enviado la encuesta se sienten poco atraidos a la idea de aportar en esta investigación. Aunque el equipo de investigación intenta acercarse, no existe una comunicación estable.
- Los gastos inesperados sobrepasaron el índice propuesto; afortunadamente fue solventado mediante mutuo acuerdo del equipo de investigación.

Es sorprendente cómo un voluntario puede expresarse sobre la problemática de su proyecto por un intento en ser leído. Como voluntario de un proyecto pequeño es importante que existan voces en el movimiento que representen a todos los proyectos, pues son estos los que arman el conocimiento libre que la Fundación espera proteger.
