Learning edit

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?
  1. We explored the diversity in our community by working with all the various Wiki Clubs and Hubs in our community.
  2. Aside from the general contest, we also created an internal event among our clubs and hubs members. The competition spurred competition among the group, and it brought about an increase in contribution.
  3. The launch of the event among the public.
  4. Early planning
  5. Local Banter: Every week, we announce the leading group to the public through our social media handles.
  • What did not work so well?
  1. Most of the participants were non-professional photographers, which impacted the quality of the photos contributed to the page.
  2. Poor internet during upload sessions.
  3. The theme of the contest seems to be unpopular among our community members.
  4. We are unable to finalize the discussion with our potential institutional partner because of COVID19 protocols.
  • What would you do differently next time?
  1. We will start the process for the invitation of professional photographers on time.
  2. We might need to create a central uploading center and seek support for a dedicated internet supply.
  3. We might need to work with the international organizer to ensure the theme for next year event will be popular and engaging to enhance more contributions in terms of content and participants.
