- Number of participants: In the 2019 iteration, we had the participation of around 1500 people from 100 countries. We would target at least 500 participants this time.
- Number of photos uploaded to Wikimedia Commons: 2000 plus
- Number of photos used on Wikimedia projects: The next campaign would be organized to illustrate the articles on wikipedia.
- 3400 articles created. We got participation from around 20 affiliates and language Wikipedia from 18 languages and 6 projects from Asia, Europe and Africa.

- What worked well?
What worked well? The theme of this project was to document folk culture of different regions around the globe including, folk dances, folk music, folk activities, folk games, folk cuisine, folk wear, folklore and tradition, including: ballads, folktales, fairy tales, legends, traditional song and dance, folk plays, games, seasonal events, calendar customs, folk arts, folk religion, mythology etc. The outcome resulted in 19000 unique images from rich cultures of 120+ countries, the majority of them covering the important gaps of media files missing from the Folk articles of Wikipedia. The best and most proud success of the project is the coverage of indegenous cultures of global south and culture coverage from countries where there is still no Wikimedia affiliate or any organized group from countries such as Bhutan and Afghanistan and many other Asian and African regions of the world. Over 1496 photographers took part and around 20 affiliates collaborated in the project. A concurrent campaign was organized in Wikipedia to cover content about women in folklore and mythology and around 3400 articles have been created in 18 different languages covering the regional personalities and mythology. The international Jury did a splendid job in supporting the jury work of this contest. And we had a categorization team from different regions of the world to support the regional categorization of the native folklore images.
- What did not work so well?
This was a well designed campaign where we did pre work for identifying the gaps on Wikimedia projects and clearly outlined them on the main campaign page.
- What would you do differently next time?
We will ensure that we define a detailed plan for categorization work with examples of the categories along with tutorials so users can have easy to navigate category page specifically designed for the main category and if possible in more languages than English.
