Goals

edit

Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?

We were overwhelmed with the results, we had way more participants and edits than we had initially expected. Please see the table below for numbers. The numbers/results are open to anyone and can be checked here.

Outcome

edit

Please report on your original project targets. Please be sure to review and provide metrics required for Rapid Grants.

Target outcome Achieved outcome Explanation
10+ participants 12 participants -
Number of new users: 3+ 0 We did not have the time during the campaign to teach new users how to edit pages. Instead, we put our full efforts into expanding the knowledge of all the editors who are familiar with the process of editing.
Number of photos used on Wikimedia projects: 150+ 1,973 photos added on a total of 500+ pages We did not expect our end result to be more than tenfold of our goal. Our editors were hard at work for our first ever #WPWP.

Learning

edit

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions: What worked well? What did not work so well? What would you do differently next time?

  • The #WPWP campaign being a contest gave a lot of incentive for users to go beyond their volunteering comfort zones and edit more than they usually would have had.
  • The gifts were not hard to ship as they were small and easy to pack/ship.
  • For another contest campaign, we should definitely make use of our social media pages better, as the marketing was done internally through community WhatsApp groups and circles.

Finances

edit

Remaining funds

edit

Do you have any remaining grant funds?

We have a remaining sum amount of 55,965.00 (approximately $115 USD), and we intend on using it for our final edit-a-thon marketing/promotion of the year 2021. Please let us know if you would require further explanation.

Remaining funds are retained by the grantee with WMF's permission until after the report review has been completed and report has been accepted, at which time the WMF program officer will also provide instructions regarding the grantee's reallocation or return of the unspent grant funds.

Anything else

edit

Anything else you want to share about your project?

  • Our first rapid grant yielded spectacular and overwhelming results, and we plan to apply to many more rapid grants to be able to reach many more new users, increase the quality and quantity of content on Western Armenian Wikipedia.
  • We also were able to hold an in-person event in Yerevan, Armenia, and introduced the participants to WPWP, the details, how to partake, and all the benefits it gives to the reader-friendliness of the articles on Western Armenian Wikipedia.
