Goals

edit

Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?

Conducting the first competition WLE 2017 in Georgia, We were able to achieve our goals.
  • We attracted new participants to participate in the competition, where two of the winners were new participants of the project.
  • We have reached the second goal of our competition and in commons have uploaded more than 600 high-quality photos during the contest.
  • We were able to attract public attention with our Facebook ads, with the help of which we attracted new participants.

Outcome

edit

Please report on your original project targets.

Target outcome Achieved outcome Explanation
Number of participants: 30 24 For the first time this is not such a bad result
Number of photos uploaded to Wikimedia Commons: 1000 861 same
Number of photos used on Wikimedia projects: 200 40 Due to the fact that in Wikipedia does not have articles about objects shot during the project, at this stage we were unable to reach the required number.

Learning

edit

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?
    • We were able to interest the minimal number of participants in the first contest of this project, this is in the situation that in our country there is minimal interest in this area.
    • During the competition, participants uploaded a lot of high-quality photos.
  • What did not work so well?
    • Unfortunately the number of participants did not exceed the number that we expected.
    • The above applies to the number of photos uploaded.
  • What would you do differently next time?
    • We will actively advertise the competition on different platforms.
