Goals

Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went? This grant was earmarked to help us publish the results of our Editathon conducted with our Doctor of Physical Therapy Students from Touro College, in an open access journal. We are very happy with the results of this effort as our submission was accepted and published in the Journal of Medical Internet Research (Weiner SS, Horbacewicz J, Rasberry L, Bensinger-Brody Y. This project has been executed four times and improves each year. The dissemination of the results was rewarding and demonstrated the utility of this effort by Physical Therapy students. Results show that the efforts to improve the quality of health information on Wikipedia did indeed reach the general public.

Finances

Grant funds spent

Please describe how much grant money you spent for approved expenses, and tell us what you spent it on. Funds were earmarked for public dissemination of outcomes associated with our school's engagement with Wikipedia. The funds from the $2000 grant were used as follows: $1863.85 towards a portion of publication fees in JMIR. ( total cost to publish was $2950 and a portion was also covered by another grant). $96.23 on Research Poster $39.92 remaining funds ( see below for projected use)

Remaining funds

Do you have any remaining grant funds? Yes, there is $39.92 remaining which will be used for refreshments for a meeting to plan our next Wikipedia Editathon.

Remaining funds have been used or will be used for other approved mission-aligned activities. This use has been requested in writing and approved by WMF.

Anything else you want to share about your project? This has been a very rewarding experience for our faculty and students and we are very grateful to the Wikimedia Foundation for the opportunity to share our important work.
