Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?
The project has gone well, looking at the statistics of the Central Bikol Wikipedia on edit count, page views, and edited pages during the entirety of the program. We initially translated the modules however we think it was impractical at this part, based upon the impression of those teachers who have suggested using the English version of the modules. Also, the interface of the Central Bikol Wikipedia includes terms that are not understandable by common users. We have observed translations that are incompatible with the usage of English, such as "Sagunsong Kilyawan", "Pururakan na Pahina", and even the term for reference which is "Toltolan". We might need to consider changing some significant items directly on the translate wiki before we can finalize the translation of the modules. However, these should be achieved on the consensus between the administrators and active users of the Central Bikol Wikipedia.

However, these are not purely from the recipients of the modules. Most of them have only created a Wikipedia account and never tried actually editing. Common comments were the incapacity to use the Central Bikol language on creating a proper article, impracticality of creating something that is already in English and understandable by a common user, and the acceptance of the educational sector as a whole on the use of wikiprojects. | Although the current model of teaching has shifted to the online and modular approach, the educational sector has opted to create learning materials on its own. Using a foreign module that was not assessed or evaluated by their team is seemingly unwelcome by them. But, there are still a number of teachers who admitted that they strongly recommend now using Wikipedia than before. |

- What worked well?
Initially discussing the previous project of the Wikimedia Education Team in the Philippines has helped in convincing the teachers how credible and worthwhile the project and the modules were. Brazal.dang who was a certified trainer has helped a lot in introducing Wikipedia and how teachers can incorporate this into their lesson plans. We have also come to know that there were a lot of updates on translation that need to be done on translate.wiki which will be critical on our local Wikipedia. Some of the campaigns have also coincided with the distribution so most of the recipients have tried editing by joining the existing campaigns. We are lucky that one of the recipients of the module is now also a certified trainer of the Reading Wikipedia in the Classroom and she showed interest in implementing related projects as well.
- What did not work so well?
We have tested using the translated module in actual activities of the teachers, however, they find it hard to understand the interface of the BCL wiki if it's set to Central Bikol Language. Some have stated concerns on terms being Bikolized and they are more understandable if untranslated to English since there was really no exact counterpart of it in the local language. Some words and phrases they've pointed out were: Purakan na pahina, Ikarga an sagunson, kalaenan, sagaysay, ipahiling an patanaw, and others. Most of these terms are misunderstood because of being too archaic, or the translations were done word for word instead of just sticking with the English term.
- What would you do differently next time?
Translating the interface of the BCL Wikipedia into a much simpler and understandable format is another job we need to do. This may need community consensus and effort and we look forward to making it more user-friendly to the local users, instead of just setting the Preferences into English, just because it is easy to use the local wiki in English. At the moment, we only translated what we see as essential to the project, and most of the teachers have stated that they are more comfortable using the English version.
