3. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event?

Non. I lead the event.

4. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

We will host the events in a cultural center and the Medellin's university. The Wiwas Collective collect books and Amafrocol association material that can used as references. In Bogotá,the "Red de Bibliotecarias del Chocó" will provide us with bibliographic material for the editatona. Those books will be listed on the event page so that people can find them. We'll bring material too.

5. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

Online mentors will send a welcome message to new editors after the event. They will monitor de work done by new editors and they continue to edit with help of Wikimedia Uruguay volunteers. They will monitor the work done by new editors between events so they can answer questions and offer feedback. We will also start a Facebook group for editathon participants to talk.

6. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

In order to encourage the Afrodescendant community of Latin America for the Wikipedia; We must be interested in its cultural legacy and that this work of inclusion in the online encyclopedia has an impact of recognition of the cultural contribution of the African diaspora to the foundations of Latin American culture. I will finish the edit-a-thon with artistic performances of the different communities linked to it. As a black antiracism activist, musicien and performer, I have been in contact with cultural and social activists of the different communities.

What resources do you have? Include information on who is organizing the project, what they will do, and if you will receive support from anywhere else (in-kind donations or additional funding).

We have already covered costs of internet connection, location and rooms for activities. We do not expect the Wikimedia Foundation to fund all aspects of the editathons or infrastructure. We already have spaces with computers, internet and projection equipment. I don't have reply from the Colombian Wikipedia to support me. The differents associations and cultural comunities staff will help us with resources and are providing the venue for free to the participants.

What resources do you need? For your funding request, list bullet points for each expense and include a total amount.

Endorsements edit

Community members are encouraged to endorse your project request here!

  •   Support AfricanadeCuba is a leader in black collectives from latinoamerica and will easily achive the goal of bringing new editors to the event. Furthermore, her proposal of assembling an editathon with an art performance will increase the impact on contributors from the collectivity that will feel concerned. Finally, the objective of this grant fits on the wikipedia objective to diversify the encyclopedia. Galahmm (talk) 18:31, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
