Target outcome Achieved outcome Explanation
Recruit new editors We had new people interested in participating in Wikimedia projects. We had new people interested in participating in Wikimedia projects, they created accounts in the setswana domain to help improve the content using the native language.
Add or improve content The participants improved the available content using images, added citations and references.
Train new editors We introduced Wikipedia to all the participants. Accounts were created for everyone and had a chance to teach participants about how it works. We started by introducing the pillars of editing Wikipedia and went on to how media content is uploaded in Wikimedia commons.

  • What worked well?

Even if it was difficult for us to complete the project well in time, we were more happy with the number of participants who attended our program. People were really happy to socialize and learn how to contribute free knowledge, as we speak the new editors have joined us to improve content on the public domain using Wikipedia tools

  • What did not work so well?

We couldn't complete the project in a given time frame. We had several challenges that hindered us from completing the project well in time as explained in the discussion page of the grant application, we didn't have enough time to merge our work with this project so we decided to change the dates.

  • What would you do differently next time?

We will try and improve on completing our work in a given time frame, we found ways which can help us do that by assigning different responsibilities to different organizers of the program.

We had 11 plus 6 users (17) who didn't create account on (the participants promised to create accounts on their free time because we had experienced an internet protocol error stating that the minimum accounts to be created on the same IP address is limited to only six) new editors recruited and some of the id's of the users are as followsː
