Goals
editDid you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went? yes i met a couple of my goals as meant, though some were not met due to some challenegs
Outcome
editPlease report on your original project targets. Please be sure to review and provide metrics required for Rapid Grants.
Target outcome | Achieved outcome | Explanation |
500 photos | 250 photos | we were faced by security limitations that avoided some of our photographers from taking some photos and others where forced to delete their photos before they were uplaoded |
60 contributors | 20 contributors | Most of our photographers feared and a few of them participated in the photo contest, but these have been solved with permissions we asked from the different authorities |
Learning
editProjects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:
- What worked well?
We had a successful launch that introduced new memebrs to contributing to wikimedia, we achieved a couple of teh gaols that include getting realistic pictures that tell the stories of south sudans home and habitat. We formed a union of photographers who came togther for a common cause, networked photographers and trained them on how they could contribute to wikimedia.
- What did not work so well?
We had security challneges as south sudan is a country recovereing from war we had limitations of taking some photos since the security suspect photographers as photojounalists who can tell a story that maynot favour them
- What would you do differently next time?
As for relevant permissions form different stake holders and make them part of the project that just obeying the certification to run programs, which we have.

Anything else
editAnything else you want to share about your project? The project was successful to my understanding looking at the values than the metrics i see the project being one that aided in the creation of a diffrent narrative of south sudan via Photos talking about the culture in the home and habitat of the people.
