Goals

Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?

We met every goal that we expected, except the number of participants, but it seemed to us that this was a global thing; Comparing with the previous year, the event, globaly, had more or less half of uploaders and one third of new uploaders. So, for our evaluation of success, this point has less weight than others.

Our main achievement in the event were the monuments lists. We decided to use lists automatically generated by Wikidata and with a line of production method we improved the number of monuments of those lists by 4.5 times - We have 6530 now!

Number of participants: 400+	151	We think that although this decresead number of uploaders was a tendency in the event as a whole, we could've ease this if we had more practical time to apply our efforts in organization of social media and outreach. We had to start a Facebook page (our non wiki most active outreach page) from scratch and although we invited the previous editions uploaders, this was the main reason for the above expectations number of participants.
Number of articles created or improved: 100+	Small number of articles actually worked	We promoted a small edit-a-thon, and created a few articles. Definitely something to improve! There is a dashboard for this event and a category at Wikimedia Commons.
Number of photos uploaded to Wikimedia Commons: 2000+	4941	We promoted an event troughout the beggining of the campaign called Wiki Ocupa Santana de Parnaíba, that is an historical city in the State of São Paulo, so we had a lot of photos from it's historical sites, and also we had a lot of images contributed by the user Prburley. A part from those images, we had an average of 13 photographs per uploader. Category with all the images of the event Category with all the winning images of the event
At least 10% of usage of the curated files uploaded in Wikipedia articles (200+)	204 (by Glamorgan)	Not all the monuments are well documented, so do not fullfills the Portuguese Wikipedia criteria.
At least 25% of usage of the curated files uploaded in Wikidata articles (500+)	255 (12.75% of the original goal)	A lot of the monuments photographed were already illustrated.

Learning

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

• What worked well?
  • Our work with the Wikidata lists using listeria and scrapping and uploading state's databases about historical sites and monuments to Wikidata; This allowed users to photograph historical sites that they didn't even knew that were classified.
• What did not work so well?
  • Outreach: We made several posts on Facebook to bring new users to collaborate, but starting from scratch made our work difficult to spread. Only with Facebook post impulse functionallity we began to improve our outreach.
  • Tools: We didn't knew all the tools for the jury, so we spent some time rebuilding the weel.
• What would you do differently next time?
  • Next time, with this knowledge of how to do the outreach right and starting to work on the lists months before, we will have time to organize each component of the organization of the event properly.

Grant funds spent

Prizes (all in voucher/gift-cards from Submarino):

• 1st prize - Best Picture: R$1000
• 2nd prize - Best Picture: R$600
• 3rd prize - Best Picture: R$400

• 10 prizes - Biggest Contributors: R$ 125* --> 10 x R$125 = R$1250

• The approved expenses for these prizes were 10 x R$115 = R$1150, but the site only sells R$25, R$50, R$100 or R$200 gift-cards.

Food:

• We spent R$272,20 of the R$350 approved.
• We printed the poster for the WLM with other funds, but we didn't do the poster or printed it for the edit-a-thon, that was announced only onwiki and online.

Remaining funds

Do you have any remaining grant funds?

We have around R$470, that we would like to use to print some stickers to use in future edit-a-thons - Those really get people excited, like a reward!

Remaining funds have been used or will be used for other approved mission-aligned activities. This use has been requested in writing and approved by WMF.

Anything else you want to share about your project?

It was a great experience and we learned a lot and we have hope that doing this is event and participating in it helps to fight the neglect of our historical patrimony.
