Learning edit

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well? Participation was great. A large number of freely-licensed photos of Black Musicians were sourced, uploaded and improved by participants. Participants searched for the already existing photos on Wikimedia Commons and added it to the appropriate article on Wikipedia. Also, the missing free licensed photos of the musicians were uploaded to Wikimedia Commons.
  • What did not work so well? Due to the challenging nature of this project, participants were a bit slow in uploading these photos, therefore, the targeted outcome of participants and articles was not achieved.
  • What would you do differently next time? More awareness will be created prior to the project date.
