Goals
editDid you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went? Yes, we have successfully met our goals and are so happy with how the event went so far, especially how our UG made a great collaboration with librarians of the city.
Outcome
editPlease report on your original project targets. Please be sure to review and provide metrics required for Rapid Grants.
Target outcome | Achieved outcome | Explanation |
Recruit new editors | 13 | We have been able to achieve this target by 130% |
Increase skills for existing editors | 5 | 5 members from our UG were able to attend this event. The very important skill learned here was how to add references using visual editor and wikicode editor |
Add or improve content | 111 (as of our dashboard on July 30, 2021) | We're so proud of this. We have achieved this goal by 317% |
Learning
editProjects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:
- What worked well?
Participants were helping each other to work in teams. The content was mainly focused on DRCongo
- What did not work so well?
We had two main difficulties: most of our attendees don't use Internet in a daily basis, so they need more time to adapt themselves. The second problem we had was about the quality of Internet that did not allow us to finish on time.
- What would you do differently next time?
Given all these issues, we think it'd be better to run a pre-event of at least 1 h so that we can make sure everyone has an account and can easily navigate to the Wikipedia Interface. For Internet issue, we'll need to diversify providers.
