We start by first setting up the project landing page were information about the local contest are made available, then make choices of our Tracking Tools which we used in tracking the participants' activities, these include developing the projects's Outreach Dashboard, GLAM and Commons Uploader Tool. We then proceeded to holding our first meet where a workshop on introducing our community members to the Wiki Loves Earth 2023 Contest and training on how to use the WLE upload wizard was made. From there comes the call for the photo hunts where we embark on a photowalks. It's after that we held another workshop as a upload session where all the images were uploaded by the participants and encourage them to continue on the process up till the time the event was closed.

2. Were there any strategies or approaches that you felt were effective in achieving your goals? Please describe these strategies and approaches.

4. To what extent do you agree with the following statements regarding the work carried out with the support of this Fund? You can choose “not applicable” if your work does not relate to these goals.

Our efforts during the Fund period have helped to...
A. Bring in participants from underrepresented groups Strongly agree
B. Create a more inclusive and connected culture in our community Strongly agree
C. Develop content about underrepresented topics/groups Strongly agree
D. Develop content from underrepresented perspectives Strongly agree
E. Encourage the retention of editors Strongly agree
F. Encourage the retention of organizers Strongly agree

5. Is there anything else you would like to share about how your efforts helped to bring in participants and/or build out content, particularly for underrepresented groups?

i. Communication: communicating with the community members in a timely and using clear words while developing empathetic understanding of their weaknesses as an organizer helped us a lot in achieving the greater success of this project. ii. Response: politeness and forebearance in responding to the participants' questions and similar needs as well as meeting their expectations or clarifying to them the exact limitation of the activities scope also helped in build mutual respect and understanding among us throughout the activities.

Part 2: Your main learning edit

6. In your application, you outlined your learning priorities. What did you learn about these areas during this period?

1. We learned that constant engagement in organizing similar contest would continue to keep our community members make tremendous achievement by the end of the project.

2. We now believe that despite our community being a small one, with dedication and hardwork we can play a very significant role that can be impactful and of benefit to Wikimedia movement.

3. We also noted that our community has done more than expected in the WLE 2023 contest and that our contribution is commendable.

7. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences?

Yes, some unforeseen factors have tempted to deteriote the progress of our planned activities. These are highlighted below; i. Inflation: Progeressive hike in prices of goods and services in Nigeria resulting from the removal of fuel subsidy has played a significant impact towards executing our planned activities. This include increase in products like food and services including the raise in the transport fares and taxi drives which affects our photowalks trips. ii. Insecurity: Some protected areas were under great security concerns as a result of them becoming like a camp of bandits and other terrorist groups including the Chad Basin in Borno State were Boko Haram has made their hiding place, in-depth of Gujba Forest which now become the Army Training Base and also a hiding location for Boko Haram. In Adamawa and Taraba State there were emerging inter-tribal wars and arm robbery happening at the exact moment we were conducting the photowalk.

8. How do you hope to use this learning? For instance, do you have any new priorities, ideas for activities, or goals for the future?
