4. To what extent do you agree with the following statements regarding the work carried out with the support of this Fund? You can choose “not applicable” if your work does not relate to these goals.

Our efforts during the Fund period have helped to...

B. Create a more inclusive and connected culture in our community Strongly agree
C. Develop content about underrepresented topics/groups Agree
D. Develop content from underrepresented perspectives Agree

5. Is there anything else you would like to share about how your efforts helped to bring in participants and/or build out content, particularly for underrepresented groups?

In general, in-person training, hands-on demonstrations, collaborative brainstorming sessions, and a welcoming and inclusive event atmosphere were be effective in encouraging participation from underrepresented groups. Additionally, a diverse group of presenters and trainers helped to create a more inclusive environment and attract a more diverse group of participants.

Part 2: Your main learning edit

6. In your application, you outlined your learning priorities. What did you learn about these areas during this period?

The focus was on the strategies and approaches used to introduce the Wikidata project to community members, build excitement around it, and celebrate its 10th birthday. From this, we learnt about the effectiveness of different strategies in engaging community members with a project and the importance of hands-on, practical demonstrations in helping community members understand and engage with the project. Additionally, the value of in-person training and collaboration for building a sense of community and shared understanding among participants, as well as the significance of celebrating milestones in terms of raising awareness and building excitement around a project among community members.

7. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences?

We were suprised by the turnup numbers of interested participants from the communities. However, due to the budget limit we had to make some little adjustments but we were unable to host allt he interested members.

For the USW community the booked venue was cancelled by the owners at the last minute thus we had to find a plan B where we moved to another venue.

It's important to have a plan B, and be able to adapt to the unexpected situations.

8. How do you hope to use this learning? For instance, do you have any new priorities, ideas for activities, or goals for the future?

Set new priorities: Based on the outcome of the event, the organization may decide to focus on certain areas for improvement in the next events.

Develop new ideas for activities: The learning can help to generate new and innovative ideas for activities that can engage community members in a better way.

Set new goals: The learning can help to set new and more realistic goals for the future events, based on the experience and the outcome.

Improve the planning and the implementation: The learning can help to improve the planning and the implementation of the next events, by identifying the best practices and the areas for improvement.

Evaluate the impact: The learning can help to evaluate the impact of the event, and to measure the success in achieving the goals.

9. Documentation of resources: Use this space to upload any documents that would be useful to share with others (e.g. communications material, training material, presentations).
