We have several activities with this fund in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. We had a great meetup with Tajik Wikimedians UG and other activities that spread the idea of free knowledge in Tajikistan.

These are the implemented activities we had in Tajikistan:

1. Conference in the Tajik National University with over 100 participants (Dushanbe, Tajikistan, December 2023)
2. Meeting with the Tajik National Encyclopedia, which resulted in mutual collaboration between Wikipedia and the Tajik National Encyclopedia (Dushanbe, Tajikistan, December 2023)
3. Two Tajik Wikimedians User Group members were on Tajikistan National Radio and talked about Wikimedia
4. We visited a school to tell students about Wikipedia (Hisar, Tajikistan, December 2023).

You'll find all the activity details in the following part of this report.

Part 2: Learning edit

4. In your application, you outlined some learning questions. What did you learn from these learning questions when you implemented your project? How do you hope to use this learnings in the future? You can recall these learning questions below. (required)

You can recall these learning questions below: The most important thing for our community is having a voice among the Wikimedia movement. We hope after this conference, members of our community can work with the Wikimedians around the world and can participate to discussions about Wikimedia.

Our community's main focus is making our voice count in the Wikimedia movement. We're excited because after the conference, our community members are getting involved in discussions worldwide. For instance, they're joining meetings like CEE online gatherings. Plus, we've kicked off our own monthly online meetings inspired by this participation: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Tajik_Wikimedians_User_Group/Online_meeting_(January_2024)

5. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences? (required)

During our activities, some surprising things happened.

We discovered that our young community members need more help learning how to edit Wikipedia and join in Wikimedia activities. This taught us that we should give them more attention and support.

It was unexpected that the president of Tajikistan issued an order to some organizations to help Tajik Wikipedia in 2015. This allowed us to get more notice from local authorities, which was good.

We also learned that many people, especially students and educated people, understand Russian well. This showed us that using Russian can help us reach more people and involve them in our actions.

6. What is your plan to share your project learnings and results with other community members? If you have already done it, describe how. (required)

We have already shared several reports on our user group's first page: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Tajik_Wikimedians_User_Group Additionally, while doing our activities, we shared updates with other communities. We used our Telegram group and reached out to the CEE hub group as well as the Central Asia Wikimedian group to keep them informed.

We have plan to write our story on diff and CEE newslatter.
